This project idea is to create an interactive installation where the audience can participate and interact with it. The space will have a screen where the audience can get closer to. Apart of that there should be another projector which can reflect the images depending on what is done in the main screen.
The idea is still in development because i still not sure what kind of way i want to go with the project. Since i have one option is to make interactive choice options for the audience to get some results depending on the choices, so when the audience choose it will give some answers and some abstracts forms. When it reach the end something would pop-up.
The other direction of the project is to create with the same installation like the other, just the main screen is for the audience to come in, then some words came in there, after that there are a cam who scan a face, depending on the number of the face, the projector will reflect on the screen different abstract forms, starting from the simple with one person, to more complexed forms if there are more faces are scanned.
The reason and inspiration of this idea came by looking at the artwork called Oneness from a Japanese artist called Mariko Mori.
In her artwork there is a sculpture of six “alien” figures, linking hands in a circle. When the viewer participates in the work by hugging the figures and welcoming them, the aliens’ eyes light up and their hearts start beating. When all six are hugged at once the base lights up as well. This artwork is an allegory of connectedness, a representation of the disappearance of boundaries between the self and others. It is a symbol of the acceptance of otherness and a model for overcoming national and cultural borders. It shows the world existing as one interconnected organism.
I liked the idea of creating an interactive installation where the audience have in a way to connect with each other so there are a connection formed. It does not matter who is it young or adult, from one country or culture to another everyone can participate.
Though the idea is to be in a one room installation, it can be also perform to be in the middle of a road where there are people who comes and goes.
